PBA PRESIDENT JOHN KAZANJIAN ANNOUNCES THE FLORIDA PBA AND THE PALM BEACH COUNTY PBA’S ENDORSEMENT OF PORT ST. LUCIE CHIEF OF POLICE RICHARD DEL TORO FOR ST. LUCIE COUNTY SHERIFF
WEST PALM BEACH- PBA President John Kazanjian today announced both the Palm Beach County PBA and the Florida PBA’s endorsement of Port St. Lucie Chief of Police Richard Del Toro for St. Lucie County Sheriff.
PBA President John Kazanjian said: “For the past 12 years, Port St. Lucie Chief of Police Richard Del Toro has demonstrated a commitment to excellence when it comes to law enforcement leadership, while also commanding the respect of the 400 sworn/civilian personnel and over 200 volunteers under his supervision. He has worked in a variety of assignments throughout his career including Road Patrol, the Special Investigations Division, Internal Affairs, and as the Commander of the Professional Standards Division and S.W.A.T. Team. Throughout his tenure at the Port St. Lucie Police Department, the City of Port St. Lucie has continuously been recognized as the “safest large city in the State of Florida” by having the lowest crime rate for cities with a population over 100,000 residents. Unlike his opponent in this race, who doesn’t even have the support of his own party, Chief Del Toro has earned the trust of the men and women who serve in the Port St. Lucie Police Department, as well as the public’s trust. It’s critical to keep public safety in Port St. Lucie moving in the right direction and for all of these reasons, the Palm Beach County PBA and the Florida PBA are proud to endorse Chief Richard Del Toro for St. Lucie County Sheriff. We will do all that we can to help him win in the August primary and November general elections.
Thanking the PBA for their endorsement, Chief Richard Del Toro said, “Thank you to President John Kazanjian and the 30,000 members of the Florida Police Benevolent Association, including the Palm Beach County PBA, for this endorsement. I consider it a great honor to be supported and endorsed by the brave men and women who have devoted their lives to serving and protecting our communities. As the next Sheriff of St. Lucie County, one of my top priorities is to build a positive, goal and team-oriented working environment that will transform St. Lucie County into the safest county in the State of Florida and make the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office the premier law enforcement agency in the United States of America.”
