FLORIDA PBA BIG BEND CHAPTER PRESIDENT RICHARD MURPHY AND LEON COUNTY PBA PRESIDENT JAVIER VIDES JOINTLY ENDORSE CANDIDATES IN KEY TALLAHASSEE RACES

TALLAHASSEE– Following the completion of an extensive candidate screening process, Richard Murphy, president of the Big Bend Chapter of the Florida PBA, and Javier Vides, President of the Leon County Chapter of the PBA, jointly announced their union’s political endorsements for the following candidates:

  • Brian Welch for County Commission Seat 4 
  • Carolyn Cummings for At-Large County Commission Seat. 
  • Lashawn Riggans for County Judge Seat 4     
  • Allison Tant for State Representative District 9 

“On behalf of the men and women who risk their lives every day, maintaining public safety in the Capital region of our great state, I am very proud to announce our endorsements of Brian Welch for County Commission Seat 4, Carolyn Cummings for the At Large County Commission Seat, Lashawn Riggans for County Judge Seat 4 and Allison Tant for State Representative District 9,” said Florida PBA Big Bend Chapter president Richard Murphy. “Now more than ever, our members and their families need our local officials to support our efforts and to protect our rights as essential first responders so that together, we can make Tallassee a safe and vibrant city for all of our fellow residents.”

Echoing President Murphy’s statement, Leon County PBA president Javier Vides said, “Our endorsed candidates have a proven track record of supporting law enforcement officers and appreciating the sacrifices our members make daily. We can trust these outstanding leaders to stand with us on critical issues that impact both our employment rights and public safety. Moving forward, we will do all that we can to help them prevail on election day.”
